What should you put in your beach bag? If you clicked on this post, you want to know what’s in my beach bag, which I will share with you. As an avid beachgoer, I know what you need and what you don’t need in your beach bag.
If you don’t know me, I was born and raised on Cape Cod which is surrounded by water. For me the beach is like my second home, if I could be there every day in the summer, I would. Whether you’re planning a trip to Cape Cod or another beach vacation, this post will be incredibly helpful for you!

Without further ado, let’s get into this post!
This post is all about what’s in my beach bag.
1. BEACH BAGS
Firstly, you’ll need a good quality beach bag that will at least last the summer. Obviously, you want it to last forever, but if you plan on going to the beach often, it may be hard to keep a beach bag in good shape. Below, I have linked some cute, yet affordable options for every budget.
2. SUNSCREENS
Secondly, the most important thing in your bag should be sunscreen. I don’t know about you but skincare is important and sunscreen is very important, especially if you’ll be spending time in the sun at the beach. Below, I have linked the sunscreen I use when I go to the beach.
3. REUSABLE DRINK BOTTLES
Thirdly, when it comes to reusable water bottles, I love my yeti tumblers and ramblers. Additionally, if you’ll be bringing cans to the beach, the Brumate is awesome for keeping your can cold and out of the sand. In short, ultimately, any water bottle will do, but a good water bottle is essential for staying hydrated in the sun.
4. beach Towels
Another beach bag essential is a towel. Without a doubt, a beach towel is important, especially if you plan on swimming. Although I don’t swim much, I love sunbathing on my towel. If you’re interested, I have linked some cute beach towel options below.
5. SUNGLASSES & HATS
In addition, to sunscreen and all the other beach bag essentials, you most definitely need a pair of sunglasses and a hat. Moreover, I found an amazing pair of Ray-Bans sunglasses dupe from Amazon that is under $20. So you should check them out if you’ve been wanting Ray Bans but don’t want to spend the money.
6. MISCELLANEOUS
Finally, we have some miscellaneous items that are also very much important. Firstly, you’ll definitely want to bring some hand sanitizer because you never know what you’ll touch at the beach. Secondly, if you have long hair you most certainly want to put your hair back because it can get windy at the beach. Lastly, I recommend a plastic pouch that has a zipper to store small items in your bag like chap stack, hair elastics, and sunscreen.
