This post narrows down some of the best options for you. Let me tell you some things that I look for in a good kitchen backsplash: neutral, elegant, timeless, and luxurious. Check out my Pinterest for more ideas.

Here are my top tips for buying a kitchen backsplash:
- Shop in-store. If possible it is best to shop in-store that way you can get up close and personal with the tile. By this I mean, you get to feel and see the tile as it is in real life.
- Read reviews first. If buying online, read the reviews first. That is to say, the reviews are always a good indicator of whether or not the tile is worth buying. If a product has poor reviews, then that’s probably a sign that it is not good.
- Take your time. Deciding on a backsplash is a big decision and should not be taken lightly. After all, you’ll be spending a lot of time in the kitchen, so you’ll want to love it.
1. Zellige Tile Backsplash
Firstly, we have this stunning Zellige authentic traditional Moroccan handmade terracotta tile in the color Moroccan sea salt. I think we can all agree that this tile is stunning. The exact tile is from Cle tile, where it is priced at $19.50 a square foot. Unlike the traditional subway tile, this tile is thicker making it a better quality. These tiles are like snowflakes because no two tiles are identical.
The original title in the picture is from Cle Tile. However, if you want to save a few dollars, Riad Tile has similar quality tiles.
But, if you want to save even more money and are ok with them not being quite as good, check out these Cloe ceramic tiles for half the price. Obviously, they are not going to be the same quality as the expensive ones, but they are pretty dang close!
Shop the tile:
2. Gray Herringbone Tile Backsplash
Secondly, this gray herringbone tile is a classic, timeless look. If you don’t want to go too crazy on design this is a great option.
Also, it is a more affordable option. Home Depot sells a similar tile for $3.62 a square foot while Wayfair has a similar tile for $5.29. Both of these are similar affordable options worth checking out.
Shop the tile:
3. Solid Marble Backsplash
Did you know that there are a lot of great benefits from having a solid backsplash? For one, it makes your kitchen feel more luxurious. However, the best part is that it is much easy to keep clean, especially if you choose an easy-to-maintain stone.
If you think about all the cracks in a tile backsplash you realize that it is a pain in the butt to clean and upkeep with. Whereas a solid slab you simply wipe it down and don’t have to do too much arm work.
In addition, most people think they are more expensive than regular tile, yet they are around the same cost as tile and in some cases less than a tile backsplash. When it comes to purchasing a solid slab backsplash, I recommend going to a look place near you.
4. Zellige Square Backsplash Tile
Here is another beautiful grey tile option. Once again, this is Zellige, but this time they are square. If you don’t know about Zellige Tile, they are glossy handmade tiles.
Since they are handmade and imperfect nature of the glass, people love the endless variations and unique look it has. Overall, I think this Zellige square backsplash tile is timeless yet elegant. To get this exact look, the Zia tile is the tile in the picture.
Shop the tile:
5. Gilt Garland Backsplash
This gilt garland tile is so elegant and unique looking. I love that it is not the typical subway tile. Since the tile is so unique I was only able to find it on Anthology Tile’s website and you have to be a dealer to get the price.
If you’re interested in this tile, then I recommend going to your local tile shop.
Shop the tile:
6. Gold Lantern Marble Backsplash
Moreover, I don’t know about you, but I love gold. Gold has always been one of my favorite colors. However, too much gold can get overwhelming which is why this tile is perfect.
That is perfect it has just the right amount of gold and is subtle yet elegant. Check out some options of where to buy below.
Shop the tile:
7. Moroccan Weathered White Tile Backsplash
Next, we have this tile that you don’t see often. This tile is so unique that I only found it on one site! So if you’re looking for a good one-of-a-kind tile, you should check this out.
Shop the tile:
8. Montauk Gin with Satin Finish Backsplash
This tile is as simple as you can get. In other words, sometimes all you need is a simple tile like this to make a statement.
Above all, Home Depot sells this tile for an affordable price. In short if simple yet sophisticated is your style, then I would defiantly check this backsplash out.
Shop the tile:
9. Checkered Zellige Backsplash
Also, this tile is amazing! Another beautiful Zellige Tile design. The checkered pattern is genius.
Usually, I am not a fan of checkered patterns, but I am loving this! Another beautiful Zellige Tile design.
Shop the tile:
10. Polished Picket Ceramic Wall Tile Backsplash
Lastly, we have this pretty polished picket ceramic wall tile. Similarly, I feel like I don’t see this backsplash that often, but maybe that’s just me.
Although, I think this tile would look good both horizontally and vertically. As a result, I recommend laying out the tile in both ways to see which layout you like more.
