You will love the simplicity of these earrings they are super easy to make and require no sewing.
You only need a few things and it does not cost much to make these. Usually this kind of earring costs a few dollars at the store, but a few dollars adds up. These are made for under $3 and maybe less depending on what you buy. I love that these are affordable, simple to make, and trendy.
What you need:
- 2 packages of strand embroidery floss
- A pair of scissors
- A ruler
- 2 Fish Hook Ear Wires
Now let’s get started with this tutorial. The many pictures should help you easily follow along.
The Process:
1. Take off the packaging. (The two little pieces of paper holding the thread together.)
2. Carefully cut 2 seven inch pieces of thread off. Be careful not to unravel the thread, you need it in one piece.
3. Using one of the pieces of thread you just cut, tie it tightly around the middle of the thread bundle. Make a little tight knot. Knot it twice.
4. Next, you want to fold it half as shown in the picture below.
5. Tie a tight knot again around the two bundles at the top. Not too far down from the top, but not too close up to the top. Look at the picture below for reference. Knot it as tight as you possibly can. You might need two hands for this.
6. Now, you cut the thread at the bottom. You can cut it a lot or little depending on how long you want your earrings to be.
7. Now, you go back to the top to the pieces of thread sticking out. Thread the ear wire through one strand.
8. Tie a knot several times. Tie at least four knots and cut the access thread. Be careful not to cut the knots off.
9. Now repeat these same steps for the other earring with another strand of thread.
10. You’re done! Now you have your own DIY pair of tassel earrings.
