This post is about staging a bedroom.
My best bedroom staging tips.
1. declutter and deep clean
Firstly, you will want to spend the time decluttering your space. Start with the surfaces and put away any clutter you may have on your surfaces. After you’ve decluttered all your surfaces then you move on to decluttering the floor (Any laundry and anything else you have on the floor).
And after you’ve spent the time decluttering and you’ve put everything away, it is time to deep clean the space. Again, start with all the surfaces, and dust and then wipe down all surfaces, including using glass cleaner to wipe down your windows. Also, make sure to vacuum and mop the floors if you don’t have carpet.
2. depersonalize
Secondly, you will need to depersonalize your bedroom. You can do this by removing any personal items, such as family pictures and keepsakes. Also, make sure to put away any valuable items such as jewelry.
3. make the bed look like a hotel bed
Thirdly, any bed in any bedroom is the most important piece of furniture to highlight, you want to make your bed look luxurious, like a hotel bed. You can make your bed look like a hotel bed by using white sheets, pillowcases, and a white comforter. A white bedding set can be purchased on Amazon for cheap nowadays.
The best budget friendly bedding:
4. neutral colors
Another important bedroom staging tip is to use neutral colors from paint colors, to furniture pieces, to bedding, to everything that you can neutralize. If you don’t have money or time to make everything neutral, then I would spend the money and time focusing on the bed. Having neutral bedding will make a world of difference in the bedroom space.
5. organize the closet
Whether you like or not, home buyers are going to look in your closets. They need to see how much space they will have if they were to buy your home. If all they see is clutter and the closet is stuffed it makes it difficult to visualize and makes the space seem smaller than it actually may be.
6. deodorize
Another important part of staging your bedroom is making sure that it smells good. Be sure to get rid of any bad odors that may be lurking. You can do this by deep cleaning everything, including the carpets.
Also, consider lighting a neutrally scented candle in the bedroom. The last thing that you want is for buyers to smell something unpleasant and cause them to be disinterested in the house.
7. maximize lighting
Lastly, you need to maximize all the lighting that you can get in your bedroom. Start with the natural light that you from the windows, open curtains and blinds up for showings (Hang your curtains as hang as possible, up to the ceiling to make your space feel bigger).
If you need to add more lighting to your space, you could consider adding sconce lighting that plugs into the wall. It will make the space feel more updated and add brightness. Check out these ones from Amazon for under $30, such a great price for something that is going to add light.
