This post is about spring kitchen island decor.
How to decorate a kitchen island for Spring.
1. Tray/Basket
First, start with a tray or some kind of shallow basket to store all the items on your counter. This is the base of your kitchen counter decor. You could even use a cutting board as the base, whatever you have on hand will work!
A few of my favorite tray options:
2. Cute Vase
Second, to add to the base you will need a cute vase that will fit nicely on top of your base. Depending on the size of your tray will depend on the size of your vase that makes the most sense. Of course, you don’t want a vase that is too big that takes up all the space.
A few of my favorite cute vase options:
3. Fresh Flowers
To add to your cute vase, add some fresh flowers. For spring I love peonies, roses, and tulips. And of course, hydrangeas are my favorite especially if you love a coastal decor look. All in all, you can’t go wrong with fresh flowers, especially in the Spring time!
4. Decor books or cook books
To add to your kitchen island decor, add a few books stacked underneath the vase of fresh flowers or fruit bowl. Leaving your favorite cookbook out in arms reach isn’t a bad idea either! I linked a few aesthetically pleasing books below.
A few of my favorite decor book options:
- Sunday Suppers: Recipes + Gatherings: A Cookbook
- The Baker’s Appendix: The Essential Kitchen Companion
5. Small fruit bowl
Next, you’re going to want to add a small aesthetically pleasing bowl to display your fruit in. I don’t know about you but I love displaying my fresh fruit and making it look good. Oranges are a great fruit to display that adds a pop of color.
A few of my favorite fruit bowls:
6. Fresh fruit
To add to your fruit bowl, grab some oranges, apples, lemons, or limes to display. Displaying fresh fruit is one of my favorite kitchen decor tricks. Fruit is decor that actually gets good use out of it and doesn’t go out of style.
7. Candle
Lastly, depending on if you have room, add a candle to finish off the look. I love lighting a candle after cleaning the kitchen and everything is fresh. Lighting a candle just makes a clean space so much better.
A few of my favorite candles for the kitchen:
- Scalloped Ceramic Lavender and Birch Jar Candle Cream
- 5-Wick Tinted Glass Lavender and Birch Ribbed Jar Candle Clear
