This post is about small bedroom ideas to make your room feel larger.
1. Use light paint colors.
Firstly, this tip is so important if you want to make your room feel bigger. You need to paint your room a light color!
The first color that comes to mind is white, of course. However, did you know that there are SO many shades of white? With that being said, I would definitely go to my local hardware shop to see all the options.
Furthermore, in this picture, the paint color is Benjamin Moore silver satin. Additionally, below are some other light and neutral paint color options that I think you’ll like.
2. Buy functional furniture with storage.
If you have a small space, then you probably already struggle with a lack of storage. When it comes to picking out furniture pieces for a small bedroom, you must look for pieces that have storage. But, that doesn’t mean these functional spaces aren’t pretty!
For instance, I love the idea of an over-the-bed storage shelf like the one pictured! It is both functional and stylish.
Another excellent over-the-bed storage shelf option is this one from Target, which is also on sale for $107 (For a twin-size bed).
3. Contrast with dark and bright colors.
Thirdly, in a small bedroom, you want to create contrast! You can do this by choosing furniture that is bright or dark-colored.
For instance, you paint your walls a light-colored paint such as white, then you accessorize with some dark curtains. The picture on the right does just that and it is stunning.
If you’re looking for some navy blue curtains to buy, check out these from Target. Also, be sure to check out this cotton percale duvet cover set from H&M.
In short, I am obsessed with the black and white color that creates an elegant look. Finally, for a pop of color, I like these pretty throw pillows from Wayfair.
4. Make your bed look luxiorus as possible.
Next, if you have a small bedroom, then you know that your bed is taking up the most space. Since your bed takes up so much space, why not make it the best it can be.
Lately, I have been loving H&M bedding! That is to say, if you’re on the hunt for a good linen duvet cover set, check out this one from H&M.
I love the color variety, especially this beige color. Moreover, to go along with this set check out pretty these washed linen pillowcases! Additionally, here is a beautiful waffle cotton knit throw blanket from Amazon.
5. Hang your curtains as high as possible.
Finally, the last tip to making your bedroom feel bigger is having curtains as high as you can. Not only will hanging your curtains as high as you can make your room appear bigger, but it will make the room feel luxurious.
Just think about the fancy hotel you last visited. How were the curtains hung? They are usually hung higher than the window.
