When it comes to senior pictures you want to be creative and different. Take a look at my ideas and others’ to give you some needed inspiration.
Senior pictures are popular where I live. Almost every senior student gets their senior pictures done. Senior pictures serve as memories and you can easily look back on them. When you’re old you’ll definitely make fun of what you wore. My pictures where taken at a popular beach near me. It is very common to get your senior pictures taken at the beach where I live. I know that not everywhere has beaches or a beach around, but if you do it is a great idea.
Here is a list if ideas of where to have them taken:
- A Body of water such as a lake, pond, or beach.
- A garden. A garden full of blooming plants is so pretty.
- Your favorite store. It could literally be anywhere- grocery store, mall, ice cream shop, etc.
- A garden. A garden full of blooming plants is so pretty.
- In a field of some kind. A corn field, flower field, baseball field, etc.
- In a forest.
- In a city.
- On a not busy road.
Here are my top tips for the best senior photos:
- Wear something you love.
- Bring a couple of outfits. I brought 2.
- Have them taken at the end of Summer because that’s when you’re tan.
- Do your hair. You don’t want to have a bad hair day. I recommend your hair just being down. Keep it simple.
- Don’t stress, you’ll make fun of them later anyway.
- Wear one professional-ish outfit so that you can use them for other things like internships later on in college. Mine have come in handy for professional photos that I have needed.
- For makeup, I recommend doing your usual makeup routine and then some. If your complexion is like mine then I recommend using more bronzer than usual and using a neutral lip stick color.
- Don’t spend a million dollars on pictures.
- Professional doesn’t always look better. You can always ask someone you know to take them.
Here are some of my senior picture pose ideas:
Sit on a fence and smile.
Lean on a pole and put your hand on your hip with one knee bent and up. This structure in the back of me is actually a shower, but you would never know.
Sit on some rocks and hug your knee. Don’t forget to smile.
Stand at the edge of the ocean with your hands on your hips and smile.
Pose in the sand with one arm supporting you.
Pose in a the middle of some flowers with your hands on your hips while smiling.
Now this is close up of me smiling.
Now this is another close up of me smiling. Don’t be afraid to get close up shots.
This is my favorite. I call it playing with my hair.
Lastly, this is me leaned up against a wall. Smiling and hugging my knee.
Senior pictures are meant to be fun so don’t forget to have fun. You can make fun of your pictures later. My pictures were professionally taken by Lisa Elizabeth but yours don’t have to be professionally taken. You can always have one of your creative friends or someone you know take some pictures of you.
Have ideas in your head of what you want your pictures to look like and pick a cool spot. Also pick out an outfit that you love. Senior pictures can sometimes seem complicated and daunting, but believe once they are over you’ll never know why you stressed.
