It has become my own little tradition to bake a bunch of sweets a few days before Christmas, and then I give away boxes of my homemade treats as part of my gifts.
This year, I made a lot and tried a few different recipes. Here are all the treats I made, including links to the recipes.

What to put in a Christmas cookie box:

Everything I made for my Christmas cookies boxes:
1. Chocolate Chip Cookies
Who doesn’t love a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie? These are a staple in your Christmas cookie boxes. My FAVORITE chocolate chip cookie recipe is this Toll House Recipe. I have tried many recipes over the years and nothing beats how good these cookies are!
2. Snickerdoodles
I have found the best snickerdoodle recipe! I typically don’t go for snickerdoodles but after trying this recipe I have been hooked. This is a go-to recipe for me and I bake these every year for my Christmas cookie boxes.
3. Peppermint White Chocolate Chip Chocolate Cookies
Ok, so this was a new cookie addition this year that I tried. I adopted this recipe from Sally. I used the peppermint white chocolate chips omitted the peppermint extract and did not dip the cookies in white chocolate. They turned out good!
4. Christmas Crack
If you don’t know what Christmas crack is it’s a delicious and addicting combination with layers of saltines, homemade toffee, and chocolate. The “crack” part of the name refers to the crackers that crack when the toffee is set. Here’s the recipe I use.
5. Peanut Butter Balls
Peanut butter balls or buckeyes as some call them are a Christmas box staple. They are so easy to make and don’t require any baking. This has become my favorite recipe and pro tip. It does not make six balls. It makes more like 36.
6. Pizzelles
For the first time this year, I made Pizzelli’s and I was obsessed. I already had a Pelly maker and it was my first time using it. These were super easy to make, and they looked so good and festive in my Christmas cookie boxes.
7. White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies
Next, I made these white chocolate chip cranberry oatmeal cookies. I adopted this cookie recipe with a few minor changes. I added some chopped walnuts and used one cup of sugar. These came out great.
8. Sugar Cookies With Butter Cream Frosting
Lastly, I made my favorite sugar cookie recipe with buttercream frosting. This sugar cookie recipe has been my go-to for years. The taste is amazing and you don’t have to wait for the cookie dough to chill the recipe gives you the option to add almond extract which really enhances the flavor however, this year, I did not have any almond extract on hand, and the vanilla extract tasted just as good.
