1. Silverware Set: I think the most obvious first thing you need for your new kitchen is silverware! Well, at least one of the most essential things that you’ll need!
2. Plates, Bowls, Cups Set: The second most obvious thing that you’ll need is plates, bowls, and cups such as this set from Amazon. This set is great! It comes in a few color choices, is modern, and has highly rated reviews.
3. Sponges: To clean all your new dishes and wipe down your counters, you will need sponges. I love these ones from Amazon because they are eco-friendly and affordable.
4. Dish Soap, Hand Soap, and Spray: Of course, you are going to need dish soap, hand soap, and multipurpose spray to clean up. This Mrs.Meyers set is a classic and the perfect starter kit for a new home.
5. Dish Rack: Depending on if you have a dishwasher or not this is most definelty a kitchen essential for your new home. Dish racks are surprisingly expensive and I cant stand when they are cheap and flimsy. This Kitchenaid one may be more expensive but I think its worth it!
6. Napkins: You probably almost forgot about this kitchen essential, napkins! Napkins are annoying to buy but are necessary to keep things clean.
7. Kitchen Towels: Another kitchen essential are kitchen towels. There’s nothing worse than a kitchen towel that doesnt dry well. These kitchen towels from Walmart are such are great price and are great quality.
8. Stainless Steel Cookware Set: If you dont have any pots or pans yet and youre going to be cooking, then you most defiantly need a good set. Such as this stainless steel cookware set from Target that has great reviews.
9. Cooking Utensil Set with Caddy: To use the pots and pans, youll need some cooking utensils. I found this really good set that comes with 14 pieces including a caddy to hold them all.
10. Oven Mitt Set: You will also needs an oven mitt to handle hot dishes such as this set that comes with a full size oven mitt, potholder, and mini oven mitts. This set is so cute, I am obssesed. It comes in a variety of colors but the beige is my favorite.
11. Measuring Spoons & Cups: If youre a baker or plan on doing any kind of baking in your new kitchen then you defiantly need this measure set from Walmart. It cups with a measuring cup and measuring spoon set, and two mixing bowls. For $13, you cant beat it!
12. Knife Set: For cooking you are going to need some basic knifes. I found this knife set from Walmart that has great reviews and is under $50. All in all, its a great first knife set for your new home.
13. Microwave: I don’t know about you but I love my microwave! It makes heating up leftovers so much easier. I really like this design of this microwave, it reminds me of a kitchen aide appliance with the thick rounded handle.
14. Can Opener: Moving along, youre also going to probably need a can opener if you typically eat canned foods. I know not everyone eats canned food, I typically dont but every now and then I use my can opener.
15. Strainer Set: I found this great collapsable 3 piece strainer set from Amazon. These are a great price, under $14 and have great reviews. These would be especially great if you dont have a ton of storage space as they can fold away.
16. Cutting Board: Cutting boards are another kitchen essential that you probably almost forgot about. I am really excited that this cutting board set I found at target. For $20 it comes with 3 good quality cutting boards!
17. Glass Food Storage Containers: I am a sucker for glass food storage containers, specially the pyrex ones. I prefer the pyrex ones because they re much easier to clean since they dont have the removable rubber around the lid.
18. Baking Sheets: The last kitchen essential that is necessary are baking sheets. I use my baking sheets pretty much daily and I am not sure what I would without them.
